Mixed Bag of Results on Community Day!

Published Sun 13 May 2018

Community Day was a huge success again!  However, it also saw a mixed bag of results for North Fremantle, with the Club registering three wins out of six games, two at home and one away.

Home games were against Mt Lawley and the Drew Banfield Colts set the tone of the day with a good rebound to the winners list!  It was a very good team effort and hopefully reignites their hunger for more wins.  NFAFC 9.7 (61)  Mt Lawley 2.4 (16).  The Reserves carried on the winning way with a terrific win.  Another great whole team performance, where North  were very consistent, well drilled and focused on what needed to be done.  Their efforts were rewarded by a comfortable winning margin:  NFAFC 11.5  (71)   Mt Lawley  6.7  (43) .  Congratulations to both North teams.  The League game was a real 'arm wrestle' for the first half with neither side giving any quarter!  It really was good hard and ferocious football. However, in the second half, Mt Lawley  lifted their intensity and began taking control in the third quarter.  North found it difficult to get back into the game, particularly as some of the bigger and taller opposition players started to dominate key positions with precision marking and kicking.  It certainly was a hard day at the office for our boys!  NFAFC  8.9  (51)   Mt Lawley  13.3  (81).  Next week is another opportunity to hopefully have some key players back in the side and to reload and bounce back to the winners list against Thornlie!

Away games were at North Beach, a traditionally hard venue!  Our Brett Jones Colts tried hard against a very good opposition who put on a strong performace, with precision and skill.  Our lads were unable to respond effectively.  NFAFAC 4.6  (30)  North Beach 11.11  (77).  The Fours didn't find it any easier and were pretty much outclassed throughout the day.  Again player unavailability did not help.  NFAFC 4.5  (29)   Nth Beach  14.8  (92).  The Thirds had always set this game as a benchmark to where they stood at this particular time as NTH Beach was always going to be a good benchmark.  The lads responded well and proved too dominant and too good on the day with a great team effort.  Well done lads!  NFAFC  7.1  46)  Nth Beach  2.10  (28).
