President Report Round 9: 9 June 2018
The miserable gusty weather was probably matched by our mixed results.  Out of six games North won two, drew one and lost three. The winners include the Brett Jones Colts who turned their chances around with a great win against Collegians!  The lads committed together like a 'band of brothers' with one aim in mind...to win the game,  Which they did:  North 7-3 (45)   Collegians  6-9  (45).  Congratulations on a great win boys!  The other win saw the B Reserves continue their march in the competition and are the only undefeated team, sitting pretty at the top of the ladder.  North controlled the game  and were deserved winners in the conditions:  North 7-4  (51)  to Swan Athletic 5-7  (37).  Congratulations again boys!  Don't ease up...keep rolling on in the second half of the season!

Our first draw for the season came in a tenacious game where both sides gave everything to get a win.  It was a hard and tight contest, with North capitalising on their options and Swan Athletic frittering away chances.  The final siren was really an anticlimax for both sides, but realistically it was a fair outcome for two very even teams!  Well done lads!

The League unfortunately were slow out of the blocks in the first quarter and allowed several easy goals.  To their credit they came back hard, in the second quarter and the game and scores tightened.   The second half was much the same, as the lads pushed hard in the final; quarter but were unable to close the gap. North  8-9  (57)  to  Swan Athletic  12-7  (79).  Lessons were learned no doubt and we now look to the second half of the season.  The Drew Banfield Colts had a disastrous day and were given a real football lesson by the top team!  Next week is a new challenge and an opportunity to atone!
