PRESIDENTS REPORT: Round Seven · 27 May 2017

What a fantastic Community Day at the Gil!  Great to see hundreds of local community families, fans and NFAFC supporters come along and join in the spirit of engaging local community football with the community!  Along with several food trucks, entertainment of all kinds, North Fremantle Primary School 'Auskick' and food stalls, face painting etc...it was truly a fabulous day.  We owe Dale Henri a HUGE thank you for all the planning, logistics and management on the day, aided by his committed committee and helpers.  However, that was not all, as North Fremantle teams did their bit by being victorious in all games at the Gil!!!

The League team set the tone with a blistering first quarter, in which they kicked six goals and led all day.  Mount Lawley however were also committed and played well to get within 3-4 goals at various times on the day.  However, North prevailed and were dominant in the final quarter to run out deserved winners:  13.10 (88) to 8.11 (59).  It certainly was a tough game - not one for the faint hearted!  A great win by the lads which keeps them around the top of the ladder.  The B Reserves were similarly challenged early by a gallant Mt Lawley.  However, the longer the game went, the more North took control of a hard encounter, running out comfortable winners: 13.11 (89) to 4.3 (27).  This also keeps the lads around the top of the ladder.  Greta win Ressies!!

The Drew Banfield Colts played the final game against Mt Lawley, at the Gil under lights.  They established their dominance early in the game and continued throughout.  It was a powerful display in front of a good crowd, who obviously enjoyed the contest.  The lads were hungry to play a game, having almost a month of non-match play due to forfeits and a bye.  This was evident in their manner & final outcome, winning: 14.16 (100) to 1.4 (10).  A great effort lads, which also keeps the side arount the top of the table!  The Brett Jones Colts again travelled away alone, this time to play Curtin Uni - Wesley at South Oval.  The game was tight and North played well with determination and grit!  Both teams fought hard for a win and both should be commended on their efforts.  However the home side prevailed and in the end North fell short by only eight points. It was a creditable performance by the lads, who continue to improve each week!
